The urban Crafts house was designed for a retired industrialists and is located on a Golf Course. The geometric design has over five thousand square feet of living space. The house is symmetrical and ordered, composed to fit the streetscape and to take advantage of the steeply sloping hillside lot. The scope of work on the project involved all phases of design, incidental engineering and construction administration. French doors and large windows span the rear which runs the entire width of the house, providing a spectacular view of the golf course. The living area is daylighted and is further warmed by a fireplace as it opens out to the rear terrace. An ample bay window illuminates the first floor dining room and the second floor guest room. The design also took advantage of natural ventilation as the windows were located to provided excellent cross ventilation. The house was designed to be handicapped accessible and includes an elevator from the basement to the second floor. The landscape plant palette is composed of materials that are compatible with the surrounding indigenous plants.
