Kingston Plantation, North Myrtle Beach, SC

Kingston Plantation is an oceanfront resort located in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Working closely with Rank America, the architecture and landscape architecture incorporates many features reminiscent of a vacation and tropical setting.

The buildings are characterized by open and screen porches, floor to ceiling windows, skylights, loft spaces, etc.  They are nestled within existing mature Live Oak trees where possible and surrounded by tropical-like plant materials.  The buildings were designed to take advantage of lake and ocean views, prevailing winds and natural ventilation.

The scope of work in the resort involved all phase of design, incidental engineering as well as construction administration for twenty buildings on the following projects: Gloucester on the Point, Windermere by the Sea, Windsor Court as well as other buildings.

Unfortunately, many of the buildings have been neglected and poorly maintained in the oceanfront environment.
